My $36,718 Trip to Australia for $218

Today I finished booking the last of my reservations for our upcoming trip to Australia. In total, the trip cost me 360,000 frequent flyer miles/hotel points and $218 in taxes and fees. But the total value of the trip is a whopping $36,718! Miles and points are no joke, ladies and gentlemen. We literally live a completely different life because of my ability to accrue, maximize, transfer, and redeem frequent flyer miles. And, as it happens, I also happen to teach that very skill in my signature workshops. But, if you are just happy living vicariously through me, that’s awesome too. Here’s the breakdown:

$21,596 for (2) one-way Virgin Australia “The Business” class seats from LAX-SYD

$1,420 for (2) nights at the Park Hyatt Sydney

$420 for (2) nights at the Intercontinental Sydney

$418 for (1) night at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne

$12,864 for (2) one-way United “Polaris Business” class seats from MEL-LAX

Any questions? You know where to find me. I’d be happy to help.
